We recommending contacting federal, state, and local officials on the following issues:

Stop the Tariff Madness

What’s Happening: President Trump has plunged the global economy into chaos, issuing bizarre tariffs under legally dubious “emergency authority.” These tariffs destroy America’s economic leadership and will raise prices for everyone.

What We Can Do: Congress must take back its constitutional authority. Call Capito, Justice, and Moore and tell them to support the Trade Review Act, a bipartisan bill requiring Congress to approve new tariffs so the President can’t crash our economy at his whim.

  • Sen. Shelly Moore Capito – (202) 224-6472
  • Sen Jim Justice – (202) 224-3954
  • Rep. Riley Moore – (202) 225-2711

Protect Women’s Voting Rights

What’s Happening: The U.S. House has passed H.R. 22, the SAVE Act, requiring voters to provide a birth certificate, U.S. passport, or other paperwork before registering to vote. Experts warn this will disenfranchise millions, particularly married women who’s legal name no longer matches their birth certificate.

What We Can Do:  While the bill has already passed the House, we can stop it in the Senate. Call Senator Justice and Senator Capito and tell them you oppose H.R. 22, The SAVE Act and any legislation that disenfranchises legal voters!

  • Sen. Shelly Moore Capito – (202) 224-6472
  • Sen Jim Justice – (202) 224-3954

Federal: Defend Public Education

As called for in Project 2025, Donald Trump is closing down the U.S. Department of Education. That could result in a loss of $4 million dollars to the Morgan County schools. Because of this uncertainly, local schools are already cutting critical staff positions.

Call our representatives in Washington and tell them to defend teachers and students in Morgan County!

  • Sen. Shelly Moore Capito – (202) 224-6472
  • Sen Jim Justice – (202) 224-3954
  • Rep. Riley Moore – (202) 225-2711

Federal: Defending Veterans’ Health Care

In another move straight out of Project 2025, Donald Trump and Elon Musk are preparing to fire 80,000 VA employees and further privatize VA services. If they succeed, veterans will struggle to find limited health care appointments already hard to come by in rural communities like ours.

Call our representatives in Washington and tell them to defend VA services for the 1600 veterans that call Morgan County home!

  • Sen. Shelly Moore Capito – (202) 224-6472
  • Sen Jim Justice – (202) 224-3954
  • Rep. Riley Moore – (202) 225-2711
